Sriram Institute of Management & Technology shortly called as SMIT was established in the year 2004 on the 01st of July. The institute is affiliated to Kumaun University for some of the courses, while it is affiliated to Uttarkhand Technical University for some of the courses. The institute is also approved to offer B. Ed course by the National Council for Teacher Education and to offer Technical course by the All India Council for Technical Education.

In addition to the above-mentioned courses, the institute is also planning to introduce short-term courses in computer education and management within a short period of time.

Educational Qualification for admission:

For MBA course admission, candidates can be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university with not less than 50% of marks. For BCA and PGDCA admission, candidates must have completed their 10+2/intermediate course with a minimum aggregate of 45% of marks in the case of candidates falling under general category and 40% for candidates falling under reserved category. For BBA admission, candidates must have completed their 10+2/intermediate course from a recognized board/university in any discipline. For B. Ed admission, candidates must be graduates with minimum 45% of marks (40% for SC/ST Candidates) in any discipline. But, they must have studied two school subjects at the degree level.

Admission Procedure:

The institute admits students to the different courses based on their performance in the entrance examination conducted by designated centralized association/Kumaun University. For MBA alone admission is made as per the norms issued by the Uttarkhand Technical University and Uttarakhand Government in addition to entrance examination.
