Along with the various compulsory subjects in the examination, the Jharkhand Board also has various Vernacular subjects added in the list, which also includes Bengali. This language is preferred by a lot of students studying or appearing under the Jharkhand State Board.

Division of the paper:

The paper carries a total of three groups, namely Group A, Group B and Group C. Group C, carries two sub-groups. Different numbers of question from each group have to be attempted by the individual candidate.

Paper Pattern:

The first and foremost group carries a maximum of ten Objectives based questions, and candidates have to answer all of them. Each question will carry a total of four options, out of which, candidates have to choose any one. The second group carries four questions, out of which candidates have to answer any two. The third group is divided into two more sub-groups. The first sub-group caries two comprehension based questions, out of which candidates have to attempt any one. The second sub-group carries two grammar based questions, and candidates have to answer both.

Markings:

The maximum mark of the paper is fifty. The first group caries ten marks, the second group a maximum of twenty marks. The third carries a total of twenty marks, with both the sub-group carrying ten marks.

Time allotted for examination:

The time duration is one and a half hours.
