Admission Procedure for MBA courses in UPES
Aviation Management, Infrastructure Management, Oil & Gas Management, etc are some of the specialization areas in MBA offered at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES). Science/Engineering graduates are usually considered for admission to these courses. Admissions are done on the basis of UPES MET/ Other national level entrance tests, GD and personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA in UPES
Graduates with 50% marks can apply for MBA courses in UPES. Such candidates must also have completed their 10th and 12th class studies with a minimum of 50% marks.
Candidates seeking admission to MBA in Infrastructure Management must have completed their engineering degree in any of the following streams.
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Science graduates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects are also eligible to apply.
For MBA in Energy Trading, eligible candidate must have completed their graduation in any of the following streams.
- Commerce
- Chattered Accountancy
- Economics
- Mathematics
- Statistics
Candidates having completed ICWA/ B. Tech/ B.Sc. (PCM) course are also eligible to apply.
BCA graduates as well as B.Tech/ B.E/B.Sc holders in the following subjects can apply for MBA in Information Systems Management.
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Information Technology
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Engineering/Science graduates can apply for MBA in Oil & Gas Management or MBA in Power Management.
Bachelor degree in any subject is enough to apply for MBA in Port & Shipping Management, International Business and MBA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
Admission Procedure for MBA in UPES
Eligible candidates can seek admission on the basis of an entrance exam, GD, and interview. The entrance exam namely ‘University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Management Entrance Test (UPES MET)’ is conducted by the University itself. Time duration allotted for the completion of the test is 2 and half hours. There are 160 questions for the test, each carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking for this entrance exam. Quantitative Aptitude, Data interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Data Sufficiency, etc forms the syllabus for the test. Questions can also be asked from areas of Logical Reasoning, General English, and General Awareness.
Candidates who can get through the written exam will be short listed for the next section, group discussion. Based on the performance in GD, candidates are selected for the next and final round i.e personal interview.
