Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh
A university set up in the state of Assam (state of India) in the year 1965 under DU Act of legislative assembly of Assam. The campus of this university is connected in various ways like roads, railways, waterways etc. It is given a B grade university title under National Assessment and Accreditation Council with an Institutional Score of 71%. The University Campus is as large as more than five hundred acres and covers almost sixty acres of plantation area.
Over 150 Colleges across India are affiliated with this university of Assam some of which were functional even before the independence of India. These colleges offer both Graduation and Post graduation Courses for various subjects. Some of the famous colleges affiliated with this university include the Assam Medical College, Sibsagar Girls College, D.C.B Girls College, Lakhimpur Commerce College etc. So Education in Different States can be done with just this university.
The various Departments of the affiliated colleges include Assamese, Anthropology, Applied Geology, Chemistry, Commerce, English, Statistics, Sociology, Physics, Life Sciences, History, Petroleum Technology, Petroleum Science etc. In the university campus however there are 17 departments at present which offer various course for M.A., M Sc., M COM, MBA, M.Ed., BBA, BCA, 5 year BA, LLB, MCA etc. The university also offers M. Phil Program in ten different subjects.
The Institute offers Fabulous Infrastructure with various Facilities including Library, Internet, Quality Education and health facilities. The library Or the Heart of the university is a four Storey tall Building with an area of 33570 Square feet. To all the Students it offers variety of almost all important Books, CD’s DVD’s etc.
The recruitment from the colleges under this university is done by many universities like AMUL, COCA COLA, HCL Info system Ltd., MODI XEROX, SBI (State Bank of India) Etc.
Apart from studies in the affiliated colleges, the university offers distant education for various Post graduation courses also including MBA.
