The National Eligibility Test is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission. This test is held two times every year. The test is held in many subjects, including Anthropology. There are two papers on the test. Paper II is an objective type test, and paper III has long answer type questions. The pattern of paper III is given here.

The Paper III of Anthropology is of two hours duration, and the total marks are 200. There are four sections in the paper. The first section has five questions, each carrying 5 marks. The questions in this section have to be answered in about 30 words each.

Section II has 15 questions. These questions are also of 5 marks each and the word limit is also the same as the first section.

Section III has 5 questions of 12 marks each. There are five questions from each of the electives. These questions have to be answered in 200 words maximum. Students can take up the elective of their choice and answer all the questions from it.

Section IV consists of one question carrying 40 marks. This question has to be answered in 1200 words. There are choices for this question.
