Application Form of NERIST Entrance Exam
The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology is one of the well known institutes of technology managed by the Govt. of India. The NERIST Entrance exam is conducted for the admission of candidates into the institute’s diploma, degree, and certificate courses. For each course, the institute holds a separate examination.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should have passed their class XII exam or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks with Mathematics and Science separately. (55% for SC/ST candidates) Those who are waiting for the results of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply provided that the candidates submit the requisite proof along with the application form. If such candidates are selected, they are required to bring with them the original qualifying certificate and marks sheet at the time of admission. If this is not done, the admission will get cancelled immediately.
For NEE I (Certificate): Candidates must have completed their class X or equal with Science and Mathematics. For male candidates of the general category, the age limit is 19 years. For SC/ST/PH candidates, the age limit is 24 years and for OBC/Female candidates, 22 years.
For NEE II (Diploma): Candidates should be atleast 23 years of age. For candidates if the SC/ST/PH category, the age limit is 28 years and for the OBC/Female candidates it is 26 years.
For Engineering: Candidates must have cleared their standard 10+2 or equivalent with PCM or Vocational in Electrical, Automobile Technology, and Computer Science OR NERIST Certificate.
For Forestry: Candidates should have passed their class 12th or equal with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or vocational in Horticulture /Forestry or must have a NERIST Certificate in Forestry.
For NEE III (Degree): Candidates should be atleast 23 years of age. For candidates of the SC/ST/PH category, the age limit is 28 years and for the OBC and Female candidates, the age limit is 26 years.
Application Procedure
The candidates can obtain the form either through the online or offline method.
Online Method
The application form can be downloaded from the authorized website of NERIST. http://www.nerist.ac.in. The completed application form along with a DD of the appropriate amount should be sent to the address given below.
Offline Method
Application forms for the entrance exam are available at the nearest Axis Bank branch. The fee of the application form is Rs. 750/- for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/PH candidates. The completed form can either be given directly to the office or sent through speed post. Candidates who wish to receive their forms through post should send a request letter along with a DD to the Accounts Officer, North Eastern Institute of Science & Technology, payable at Itanagar. The complete details can be viewed in the official website. http://www.nerist.ac.in. The candidates should ensure that they have written their complete postal address and phone numbers on the reverse side of the DD.
Filling the application form
A few things to be kept in mind by the candidate:
- The candidates should read the instructions from the prospectus carefully.
- Candidates should fill the form in block letters only. They should be careful not to overwrite.
- Challan from the bank where the student paid
- Challan of the cash payment.
- The candidates must paste their recent photos at the provided space.
- Candidates must provide their signature at the space indicated.
- The candidates must make sure that all the correct documents have been enclosed before it is posted.
