Profile:

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) provides extensive service with a countrywide association of over nine sub-regional and regional offices. The Regional Offices of SSC are located at Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi and sub-regional offices are located at Raipur & Chandigarh. The main task of the Staff Selection Commission is to recruit candidates for Group C (non-technical) & Group B (non-gazette- both technical & non-technical) posts in various departments of the Government of India. SSC is also responsible for conducting Departmental Examinations for promotion from Group D to LDC Grade, promotion of offices from LDC grade to UDC and Stenographers from Grade D to C apart from conducting typewriting test in Hindi & English at regular intervals.
