West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) was formed on 1st of April 2007 in agreement with the Electricity Act 2003. The company is responsible for transmitting Power to the whole state of West Bengal at 66 KV, 132 KV, 220 KV and 400KV.  It has 93 EHV Sub-Stations for handling power of more than 20,000 MU per year. It has two 400 KV Sub-Stations situated at Arambag in the Hooghly District and Jeerat in 24 Parganas (N) District. The Jeerat Sub-Station is the first sub-station to receive ISO 9001:2000 Certification in November 2005 from KVQA, Norway. WBSETCL owns the pride of receiving the best power availability award of the year 2007-2008 from the Ministry of Power Government of India.
