IFS Civil Engineering (Paper II) Papers
The Civil Services Exam is a challenge for a number of candidates. Since you will be competing at a national level, it is important that you choose the right elective in order to gain that extra competitive edge over the others. Both the Preliminary as well as the Main Exam conducted for Indian Forest Services are equally important. Since the civil engineering paper for prelims is going to be only objective type question for 300 marks, the candidates find it easy to clear it. However, in the Mains you have two papers for Civil Enigneering – paper 1 and paper 2.
The Civil Engineering Paper 2 syllabus comprises of a number of topics like construction technology, equipment, Planning and management in the first part, survey and transportation engineering in the second part, hydrology, water resources and engineering in the third part and environmental engineering in the fourth part. There will be eight questions asked in all. Each paper has duration of three hours.
There are a number of handy tips available on the internet which serves as useful tools for scoring well. There are also a number of institutes, more so in Delhi that possess a good collection of question papers of previous years. These resource materials can be very useful to a sincere candidate.
