Ministry of Environment & Forests (MOEF) National Green Tribunal was formed by the Indian Parliament under the National Green Tribunal Act. The National Green Tribunal includes a chairperson, 20 judicial officers, and 20 environmental experts. The Tribunal was established for taking effective and quick steps for cases concerning environmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources.

Job Profile:

Ministry of Environment & Forests (MOEF) National Green Tribunal invites applications for the post of Judicial Member and Expert Member.

No. of posts – Judicial Member – 10; Expert Member -10

P ay Scale – Rs. 80,000 per month + allowances (for both posts)

Eligibility:

Qualification & Experience: For Judicial Member, the candidate must have worked or must be working as Supreme Court Judge or High Court Judge. For Expert Member, the candidate must have a degree in Master of Sciences (Physical Science or Life Science) with a Doctorate degree or Master of Engineering/ Technology + 15 yrs experience in relevant field including 5 yrs practical experience in the field of environment and forests in reputed National level institutions. The candidate must have 15 yrs of administrative experience including 5 yrs in environmental matters in the Central or State Government or in reputed National or State level Institution.

Selection Process:

Candidates are selected for the post based on qualification and experience. The method of recruitment is by direct recruitment on contract basis or on deputation basis.

    The answer to my previous question has not been given,again I repeat when will the results of the November 2011 Interview for expert member be declared.

    Lucknow the capital of Uttar Pradesh requires an eestablished NGT soon.

    Dear Sir,With NGT being established and a lot of work already started i would like to have the references of some very important cases being solved by NGT expert and judicial members. With environmental protection law and alsobeing a memeber of Indian Council of arbitration I have come to know that arbitration in environmental impact assessment is still in its juvenile stage. can i request to have the list of advocates working in the field of environmental problems and also that of arbitrators so that I can interact with them.
