The University of Kerala offers the course of M.D in Obstetrics and Gynecology. There are a total of four papers in the course and the names of each of the paper are:

•    Paper –I: APPLIED BASIC SCIENCES
•    Paper – II: OBSTETRICS INCLUDING SPECIAL OBSTETRICS AND DISEASES OF NEW BORN
•    Paper – III: CLINICAL GYNAECOLOGY
•    Paper – IV: RECENT ADVANCES IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY

Each of the paper carries a maximum of one hundred marks and has three hours duration. There are only two main questions in each of the paper. The first main question is a Long answer based question and is divided into two main parts, each carrying ten marks.

The second main question carries a maximum of ten sub-questions, out of which candidates have to attempt all. Each of the sub-question carries a maximum of ten marks. Thus the first main question carries 20 marks and the second main question carries the remaining 80 marks. No Internal Options are offered in the exam and candidates have to answer all of them. Diagrams are a must in almost the entire question. Solving previous year based questions are very beneficial for the candidates in order to retain a high marks.
