Power industry in any country is responsible for the production and distribution of electric energy in adequate quantities with the help of power grid. Power is regarded as the basic infrastructure and public utility since it is to be distributed equally among commercial, industrial and domestic users.
The power industry is normally divided into four processes namely electricity retailing, electricity distribution, electric power transmission and electricity generation. Educational qualification required for entering the power sector:
For entering into the technical field of Government power sector organizations in India, candidates must be Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree holder in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Even some organizations are taking up candidates with diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with some experience of working in the private power sector companies.
Candidates with Engineering/technology graduation in other branches like civil and mechanical engineering and Bachelor of Science in mathematics, chemistry and physics are recruited for government power sector.

I am working as Power Plant engineer in Atul limited, on 29.5mw power plant since last 18 yrs. I have passed Boiler Operation Engineer exam taken by Gujarat Boiler Board. My age is 47 yrs.
