Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is a government body established in Madhya Pradesh which is responsible for better and logical understanding of the state’s higher educational system and its policies. The board takes up the responsibility of guiding and supervising the education system in Madhya Pradesh State. It carries out various activities such as constructing study courses, specifying the complete syllabus, conducting examinations, granting affiliations to colleges and providing support to all educational institutions that comes under it.

History is one of the major subjects provided by the Madhya Pradesh Board in the Arts stream. The subject is quite interesting as many students take up this subject every year. In this subject, students not only get to know about the Indian history but also about the World history. Knowing about things that had happened in the past such as the lifestyle of people who lived in the past, about various civilizations, kings and queens and thus connecting to rich cultural heritage of the past.

Sectional Division in the Paper

In this paper there is one section consisting of objectives only and another section basically of long questions.

How the Paper looks like?

The paper carries two main sections. The first section consist of five short answer questions  and each question has five sub parts such  multiple choice questions, fill in the blanks, match the column, chose the correct statement or true and false etc, and the candidate is required to answer all the questions. There are no choices in this section. The second section consist of sixteen questions in all which includes four marks, five marks and six marks questions. the candidate has to attempt seven questions for four marks each and another seven questions carrying five marks and last two questions  are lengthy ones containing six marks. No choices are provided in the objective section but the section containing subjective questions might contain choices.

How much marks are allotted?

The total marks in this paper are one hundred. The first section is of twenty five marks and consists of a variety of short answer questions. The second section contains three types of questions carrying four  marks, five marks and six marks i.e. seven questions of four marks and seven questions of five marks each followed by two questions of six marks. Thus, summing up to a total of hundred marks.

How much time is given in this exam?

The time allocated for this paper is three hours.
