Border Security Force (BSF) is a part of the Central Police Forces (CPF). The BSF came into existence in the year 1965. The first chief and founding father of BSF was Shri K F Rustamji.  The main duty of the BSF is to provide border security and related services to the people of India.

The BSF played a vital role in defending the integrity of India during the Kargil conflict in May-July 1999.

Job Profile:

Medical Officer Selection Board (CAPFs) invites application from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant) in CPF or Central Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles).

No. of posts: 335 (BSF - 62, CRPF - 95, SSB - 43, ITBP - 111, Assam Rifles - 24)

Pay Scale – Rs. 15600 - 39100 + Grade pay of Rs. 5400

Eligibility:

Age criteria – The maximum age limit is 30 years (Relaxable as per rules).

Educational Qualification – The candidates must have recognized medical qualification included in the Indian Medical Council Act and they should also have completed their compulsory internship period. Selection Process:

The selection for the post is through interview.
