Neyveli Lignite Corporation popularly called as NLC came into existence in the year 1956 and the company is owned by the Government of India. The company is engaged in the process of lignite mining and power generation.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited calls for applications from eligible candidates for Graduate Apprenticeship Training for one year training for different fields and the details regarding the notification issued by the company are given below:
Name of the Service: Graduate Apprenticeship Training
Number of Vacancies: Total number of Vacancies is 180, which is divided as follows:
• Mechanical Engineering – 50
• Electrical Engineering – 50
• Civil Engineering – 15
• Instrumentation – 10
• Chemical Engineering – 10
• Mining Engineering – 10
• Computer Science & Engineering – 10
• Electronics & Communication – 10
• Transportation Engineering- 10
Stipend: Candidates selected for the position of Graduate Apprenticeship Training, will get a stipend of Rs.3560 per month (inclusive of all).
Training Period: The period of Training is one year
Eligibility Requirement:
Educational Qualification: To apply for Graduate Apprenticeship Training in NLC candidates must have completed their graduation in the appropriate branches of engineering with not less 55% of marks (50% for reserved category candidates)
Other eligibility conditions:
In addition to the above-mentioned educational qualification, candidates will have to fulfill other requirements like:
• Candidates should not have experience of more than one year
• Candidates should not have underwent or should not be undergoing any apprenticeship training program with NLC or elsewhere
• Candidates must have completed their qualifying examination before the 1st of October 2008
• Only Candidates belonging to any of the states like AP, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and any of the union territories like Lakshadweep, and Pondicherry can apply for the position
Mode of Selection:
Candidates will be selected purely on the basis of merit secured in the qualifying Engineering degree course. In care, one or more candidates have secured the same percentage of marks, preference will be given to candidates who are senior most on the basis of their age.
How to apply:
Interested candidates meeting the eligibility requirements will have to apply online through the website of NLC at www.nlcindia.com between 1st of July and 15th of July 2011. Once online application is submitted copy of registration slips along with copies of educational certificates to the address given below before the 20th of July 2011
