Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission was established on 25th January, 1971 under the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (Members) Regulations, 1971. HPPSC includes a Chairman and two Members. The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is offering excellent task in selecting people for various civil services and posts in the State. Initially, before the establishment of the Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission, the needs of the state of Himachal Pradesh were served by Union Public Service Commission. UPSC served the needs on the special request from the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Job Profile:

Himachal Pradesh (HP) Public Service Commission is inviting online or offline applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following positions of Senior Planning Draughtsman, Planning Officer, Assistant Town Planner, Principal and Lecturer (Pharmacy) in various departments of Government of Himachal Pradesh.

1. Recruitment of Senior Planning Draughtsman:
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

2. Recruitment of Planning Officer (on contract basis):
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5000.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Town Planner:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

4. Recruitment of Principal (B. Pharmacy College):
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 18400-22400 per month.

5. Recruitment of Lecturer (Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy College):
No. of posts: Only 4 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 8000-13500 per month.

Age Limit:

For all the above specified positions, the maximum age limit set is 45 years as on 1 January 2011. Candidates belonging SC/ST/OBC/WFF/Persons with Disabilities of Himachal Pradesh, will get relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit set for the posts. Government Employees and Ex-Serviceman of Himchal Pradesh will also get relaxation in the maximum age limit.

Application Fee:

The amount of application fee for the interested candidates is Rs. 250 only. However, the amount of application fee for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Himachal Pradesh is Rs. 63 only. Candidates apply through online mode can submit the application fee through a challan form. Candidates applying through offline mode, should send a bank draft drawn in favour of Secretary, H. P. Public Service Commission, Shimla-171002 payable in any branch of a Bank at Shimla.

How to apply: Candidates can apply either online or offilne mode. Candidates can apply online only at HPPSC website on or before 22 October 2011. Those candidates, who desires to apply offline should send the completely filled in OMR application form to the below mentioned address with necessary documents or certificates:
