Junior Engineer and Scientists, Centre for Wind Energy Technology
The Centre for Wind Energy Technology was established in the year 1998. It is an autonomous R&D centre under the ministry of new and renewable energy. It provides services and solutions in the field of wind energy through research work. It works with namely 5 units that are its R&D unit, wind resource assessment unit, testing unit, standards and certification unit and information, training and commercial service unit.
Job profile: The scientists will be responsible for carrying out research work in the field of electrical engineering useful for wind energy development like instrumentation of turbines, analysis of instruments and the related technology. The junior engineer will be responsible for supporting their seniors for the execution of various activities like new methods of increasing energy production, design of systems like turbines etc.
Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 35 years for the post of a scientist and 25 years for the post of a junior engineer. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.
Educational Qualifications: For a Scientist – A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering or instrumentation and control engineering. Preferably a candidate must have a Master’s degree in the any of the above stated branches of engineering with an experience in design analysis of wind turbines, instrumentation and control of wind turbines etc.
No. of posts: There are 2 posts for scientists including 1 post for SC and 1 for UR and there is only one post for the junior engineer.
Pay scale: The pay scale for a scientist will be Rs15600-39100 plus a grade pay of Rs5400 and the pay scale for a junior engineer will be Rs9300-34800 plus a grade pay of Rs4200.
Selection procedure: The candidates will have to appear for an engineering aptitude test which will be objective in nature and the qualifying candidates will have to appear for an interview.
How to apply: The candidates are required to apply as per the prescribed format. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs300 in the form of a DD drawn in the favor Centre for Wind Energy Technology payable at Chennai. The candidates must send the attested copies of their supporting documents along with the application. All the applications must reach General Manager (F&A), Centre for Wind Energy Technology, Velachery-Tambaram High Road, Pallikaranai, Chennai – 600 100
