K.J. Somaiya Polytechnic, K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering, K.J. Somaiya Vocational Training Institute and K.J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology are the engineering institutes under Somaiya Vidyavihar. Centralized Admission Process is there for admission to diploma courses offered in K.J. Somaiya Polytechnic. Score of entrance tests like MHT CET, AIEEE or GATE are considered for the admission into undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses offered at K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering and K.J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology. Admission to all diploma and certificate programs offered at K.J. Somaiya Vocational Training Institute will based on the marks obtained in qualifying examination.

Admission Procedure

K.J. Somaiya Polytechnic - Aspirants who want to join full time diploma program should have passed Secondary School Certificate Examination held by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination. To join part time diploma program, one should have minimum two years of work experience. If the aspirants have passed their 10th standard from any state other than Maharashtra, then they require minimum three years of work experience.

Minimum of 60% aggregate is required for S.S.C or equivalent examination to join full time/part time diploma program. Post S.S.C diploma program is for aspirants who have passed their senior secondary examination with minimum of 60% aggregate. Centralized Admission Process will be conducted for admission to diploma programs by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and it will be based on the marks obtained during the qualifying examination.

K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering - If the aspirants want to get first year admission into undergraduate courses, then they should appear for either Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) or All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and obtain prescribed cut off score for it. In the case of NRI candidates, admission will be based on the aggregate obtained in senior secondary or any other equivalent examination. Wards of Person of Indian Origin, Foreign Nationals or Gulf Worker category can join only Mechanical Engineering course according to their marks obtained in senior secondary or equivalent examination. Direct second year admission will be based on Centralized Admission Process of DTE. To take part in that process, one should require diploma in relevant engineering stream.

GATE and Non – GATE category is there in the admission process for postgraduate courses. Valid GATE score is required for those who prefers GATE category. Entrance Test and interview will be there for the candidates who are applying through Non-GATE category. Apart from that, marks obtained during equivalent B.E/B.Tech degree is also considered for admission.

K.J. Somaiya Vocational Training Institute - For getting admission into diploma or certificate courses, one should pass S.S.C examination while advanced certificate program is intended for working teachers. Those who have passed S.S.C examination can also get admission into Electrician course. If the aspirants have passed only 8th standard, then they can join Plumber or Welder course. Admission to all programs offered at this Vocational Training Institute will be based on the marks obtained in qualifying examination.

K.J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology - If the candidates possess valid score in either Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) or All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), then they can apply for first year admission to Bachelor’s degree programs. Diploma holders in relevant engineering branch can opt for direct second year admission through Centralized Admission Process held by DTE.
