M. Tech Bioinformatics Course, Colleges and Admission Process
Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Bioinformatics course is offered in various colleges/universities in India. M. Tech Bioinformatics is a two year course consisting of four semesters. Admission to the course is based on the GATE score. Candidates can also seek admission in the sponsored category. Admission will also be based on an entrance examination conducted by the respective college/university to which the candidate is applying.

Admission procedure
Admission procedure is carried category wise in many colleges/universities. Candidates can seek admission to the sponsored category or for the government seats.
Candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Technology programme in Computer Science Engineering/Information Technology Engineering/ Biotechnology are eligible to apply for the course. Candidates who have completed a Master’s programme in Mathematics/Science are also eligible to apply for M. Tech Bioinformatics in some of the colleges/universities.
Admission to the government seats will be based on an entrance examination conducted by the respective college/university. The merit list will be based on the marks secured in this post graduate entrance examination. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the interview.
Some of the seats will be filled according to the GATE score secured by the candidate. Admission according to the GATE score will be in the order of merit. Admission through this category will depend on the availability of seats.
Candidates also have the option of applying for the M. Tech Bioinformatics course in the sponsored category. Admission to the sponsored seats will also be based on merit.
Candidates are required to remit the required fee at the time of admission. The fee structure varies according to the category to which they are applying.
