hello sir/madam
my sister is in 12th standard. and she want to do her career in bioinformatics. i just want to know that what is the admission process for bioinformatics in maharashtra. is there any entrance exam for this course? or its based on 12th board exam marks?

pune university offers courses in bio informatics.... by the institute named......institute of bio informatics and biotechnology (IBB)............

A national level entrance examination is conducted by IBB every year and the admissions are done entirely on the basis of merit list of this entrance examination.

Only the candidates belonging to reserved category and having domicile in Maharashtra are considered for admissions in the reserved quota. Reserved category candidates with domicile in other states of India are treated as open category candidates.

There are two papers in the entrance examination, both with multiple choice questions (MCQs). There are 50 questions in Paper I on general knowledge, quantitative aptitude and intelligence (Duration 1Hr.). In Paper II, there are 100 questions that are based on the syllabus of 10+2 course of Maharashtra Board in Biology (weightage 40%), Physics (25%), Chemistry (25%) and Maths (10%). Duration for Paper II is 2Hrs.

Yes, bio-informatics is a very good career option these days.

Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University - Nashik, Maharashtra

For admission to these institutes you need to crack the AIET entrance.
