Courses and Admisison in Vishwakarma Maritime University
Vishwakarma Maritime University offers courses such as Graduate Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Technology in Marine Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science. Admission to the courses is based on the marks obtained in qualifying examination.

Admission Procedure
Graduate Marine Engineering (GME): Candidates who have completed Bachelor of Technology or Engineering in any of the following subjects from a recognized/ AICTE approved colleges are eligible to apply.
- Mechanical Engineering
- Naval Architects
- Automation Engineering
They are required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination so as to be eligible. In addition to this, they should have secured at least 50% marks in English subject in matriculation/ Higher Secondary course or in graduation. Those who are more than 28 years of age at the time of medical fitness are not eligible to apply. In addition to this, candidates are required to be medically fit without color blindness. Application form can be obtained from the official website of the institute. Eligible candidates are required to pay RS.1000/- as application fee.
Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS): Those who have passed Higher Secondary examination with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized board of education are eligible to apply. They should have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition to this, candidates who have completed Bachelor’s degree in science subjects are also eligible to apply. Minimum marks required for qualification is 50%. Candidates who fall in the age group of 17 and 25 years at the time of application are only eligible to apply. Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of Common Entrance Test conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU). Admission to the course is conducted twice a year.
Bachelor of Technology in Marine Engineering: Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary course with a minimum of first class marks are eligible to apply. They should have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition to this, they are required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in matriculation/ Higher Secondary course or in graduation. Upper age limit for this course is 25 years. Candidates are required to be medically fit as per the norms issued by the institute.
Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science: Those who have passed Higher Secondary course with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible to apply. They should have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition to this, they are required to secure at least 50% marks in English subject in matriculation/ Higher Secondary course or in graduation.
