Selection of eligible candidates is made through interview and selected candidates are offered with salary up to Rs. 39,100/- per month. Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is another firm where these candidates can join as ‘Scientific Officers/ Executive’. Eligible candidates should hold at least 60% marks in M.Tech. Pay scale is same as that for INCOIS. National Geotechnical Facility is yet another firm where these candidates can apply for Scientist profile.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) often recruits M.Tech holders in Geotechnical Engineering to the position of ‘Section Officer/Assistant’. Those who got selected to the profile are given with salary up to Rs. 34800/- per month, with a grade pay of Rs. 4200/- per month. They can also apply for the position of ‘Technical Assistant’ in Central Institute of Brackish water Aquaculture (CIBA)’.
Private Sector Jobs after M.Tech (Geotechnical Engineering)
Apart from public sector jobs, M.Tech graduates in Geotechnical Engineering can make a lucrative career with private firms. Larsen and Toubro Limited have recently invited applications for the position of ‘Geotechnical Engineer’. Eligible candidates should have at least first class marks in the qualifying examination. Candidates with at least 2 years of work experience will be given preference over others. Saipem India Projects Ltd, AECS engineering & Geotechnical Services Pvt. Ltd, Petrofac Limited, AECOM India Private Limited, etc are some other reputed firms that offer adequate job openings for Geotechnical Engineers. Compensation offered for the candidate depends on job profile and their professional expertise. Those with high job performance will be given with promotions, perks, and amenities at each appraisal. Initial salary often falls between Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 25,000/-. It may increase up to Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 75,000/- per month after gaining 1-3 years of experience.
