Bank of India came into existence as a result of a joint venture by a group of businessman. The bank was established on September 7, 1906. The foundation stone of the bank was laid in Mumbai and the bank started functioning with only one office. Later on, the bank was made nationalised in the year 1970. The bank is actually consists of above 3000 branches spreaded all over in India. The 141 specialised branches of the bank are controlled by 48 Zonal offices. The bank also have some branches in abroad as well. Mr. Alok Kumar Mishra is the current Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank of India.
