Application Process for SCRA Exam
Application to Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination can be done online from the official website of UPSC. Candidates should have a valid email id for registration. The application process includes two steps. Candidates who successfully submitted the application form will receive admit card for examination via email.
Part I-Registration
Eligible candidates who wish to attend the Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination (SCRA) are required to apply online from the official website of UPSC. No other form of application is accepted. Candidates should have a valid email id. Those who do not have an email ID are required to register for an active mail ID before signing in to registration. One candidate can submit only one application unless there is an unavoidable situation. Candidates will be asked to provide details about educational qualifications, personal details such as gender, parents’ name, nationality, community, details for communication and details of fee payment while filling up the online application form. Application fee is Rs.100/-. Reserved category candidates and female candidates are exempted from fee payment. Fee payment can be done by cash deposit or using net banking facility of State Bank of India or its associate banks. Apart from this candidates can make payment by using Visa/ Master Debit or credit card. They are advised to save the e-payment fee receipt for future reference.
They will be asked to upload scanned copies of signature and recent passport size photograph in .jpeg format.
Guidelines for Uploading Photograph and Signature
- The scanned versions of photograph should not be less than 3KB
- Maximum size allotted for photograph and signature is 40KB
- Scanned copy of signature should not be less than 1 KB
- Signature should be put in a black ball point pen in a white paper
Applications along with bad quality of submitted photograph or signature will be rejected without intimation. Those who have successfully completed the part I application will receive a system generated completed application form. There will be a unique registration number in this system generated application form. Candidates are advised to take print out of this completed application form and keep it safe for future reference.
Part II-Registration
Candidates who have received system generated application form are required to fill details in part II registration. They will be asked to submit the unique registration number and date of birth so as to log in to the Part II application form. Candidates can select the center of examination in this section. Examination centers once selected cannot be changed in any circumstances. Those who submitted the part II registration will receive a confirmation email from the commission. Candidates are advised to visit the official website frequently for intimations regarding call letter.
