Architecture is a technical field, which involves the art of designing and constructing buildings. Architecture course basically deals with creative drawing of buildings. Bachelor of Design or B. Des deals with the design of any small parts of a whole structure to make it more beautiful. It basically involves designing of a specific part of a car or a website.
Both the subjects deal with outlook of a building or structure. B. Arch makes use of technical aspects where as bachelor of design build up a structure with out involving much in to its engineering aspects.
B. Arch
Bachelor of Architecture is an Undergraduate technical Degree, which imparts high-level technical drawing skills in aspirants. This course has time duration of 5 years of study. These 5 years are divided into 2 stages. First 3 years of the academic curriculum can be considered as the first stage where as the last two years can be considered as the second stage of study. The first stage includes classroom studies followed by practical training of 20 weeks. This practical training is to be done in any of the construction companies or construction sites. This provides a feel of online training to the students. The second stage also involves one and half years of academic study along with practical training. In this stage, the student has to prepare and present seminars, present reports on research based projects etc. In the last semester students has to undergo apprenticeship under a reputed architect.
The Bachelor of Architecture degree makes an individual highly efficient in technical drawing. This course imparts students with skills related to space, architectural presentation skills, technical problem solving skills etc.
B. Des
Design deals with a work in highly artistic and creative manner. Bachelor of Design is an Undergraduate Academic Degree in the area of designing. This course deals with designing a specific part of a whole structure or design of a shape, configuration etc. This course offers lot of specialized areas. Design of buildings, machine parts, Fashion designing etc can be considered as areas of specialization in this subject. The course duration of Bachelor of Design course is 4 years. The course covers theory classes along Workshops, presentations, Seminars etc.

- B Arch is a technical course where as B Des does not take care engineering aspects in design.
