Civil Services Commerce and Accountancy (Paper I) Papers
Commerce and Accountancy is one of the subjects in the most prestigious exam of India- the Civil services Examination. Commerce is taken by the aspirants who have a commerce background. People doing their degree courses, post graduation or professional courses like CA, CS, take this test. The syllabus of the exam is of graduation level.
Civil services examination is held in two stages- preliminary examination and main examination. The preliminary exam has multiple choice type questions. The number of questions in this test is 150, each carrying 2 marks. The total of this paper is 300 marks and the time allotted is two hours. In the main examination there are two papers on this subject. Both the papers are conventional type papers. The pattern of first paper is given here.
Paper I of commerce and accountancy is a three hour paper, carrying a total of 300 marks. The paper has eight questions, but the students have to answer five out of these. Question numbers 1 and 5 are compulsory. Remaining three answers can be answered from rest of the questions. The questions are divided in two sections. Students have to take at least one question from each of the section, apart from the first question of each section. Each question is of 60 marks. The questions are divided into smaller sub questions.
