The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination. There are many subjects in this exam in which the aspirants can take the test. Commerce and accountancy is one of the subjects. People who have studied commerce at the graduation level or are pursuing professional courses like CS or CA usually take up this subject. The subject can be a scoring one if thorough preparation is done. In the preliminary exam of the test, there is a single paper on the test. The test is objective type. The duration of the test is three hours. Students have to answer five questions, out of the eight questions given in the paper. The paper has two sections. Questions number 1 and 5 i.e. the first question of each section is compulsory. Each question is of 60 marks. The total marks carried by all the questions are 60. Students can expect practical questions also. The first question generally is about writing notes. The questions are further divided into several sub questions, so the marks are distributed. The syllabus of the subjects is of the degree level. The questions follow the syllabus only, but the standard of the questions can be expected to be very high.
