I am a student of final year diploma in mechanical engineering.can i get admission in second year in above colleges?what is its criteria? Is it like everyone are eligible or only few are eligible? Can you please provide me the details on this?

You can get admission in second year of engineering degree course, if you perform in the entrance exam conducted by the concerned university. Diploma in mechanical engineering of 3 years duration is valid for lateral entry.

Just make sure you fulfill the marks criteria. Some ask for 60% marks in diploma for admission. Rank in the entrance exam will decide your chances of getting admission in your choice of college.

Yes, you are eligible to get admission to second year of the B.Tech course (through lateral entry admission), after completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The lateral entry admission is possible for the students who have passed a three years diploma course with 50% marks (60% in some colleges).
