Is Diploma in Computer Operations enough for IBPS PO & Clerk exams?

Sir, I have selected DCO (Diploma in Computer Operations) while applying IBPS PO & Clerk, but have a certificate course in DCA (Diploma in Computer Applications). Is it OK or will it create any problem

I am sorry to say that you cannot appear for IBPS PO & clerk examination after having cleared your Diploma course, as the minimum eligibility criteria in order to appear for the examination is that you should have completed your graduation from a recognized university.

No, diploma candidates are not eligible for IBPS PO and Clerk exam.

Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognized university are eligible for IBPS clerk exam.

Your age should be 20 to 28 years.

Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognized university are eligible for IBPS PO exam.

Your age should be 20 to 30 years.

Age relaxation is provided for reserved category candidates.

SC/ST ==> 5 years
OBC ==> 3 years
PWD ==> 10 years
Ex-Servicemen ==> 5 years
Widows ==> 9 years

No, it is not okay.

According to the eligibility criteria released by the IBPS for the PO and Clerk,

* The candidate should be of 21 years of age at least.
* The candidate should be a graduate from any recognized university under the scheme of 10+2+3 at least.

A diploma is not equivalent to the Graduation. It is equivalent to 12th only.

So, you need to do a graduation degree if you want to apply for such jobs which have graduation as the eligibility criteria.

As far as my knowledge is concerned, it won't create any problem during selection. The main reason why it does not create problem is as follows.

>> Choosing knowledge of computer option is an Optional option. So the main aim to choose the option is to know that candidates have good knowledge on Computers.

>> And besides this, as you have good knowledge of computers I am sure you are eligible to apply and no need to worry about this.
