Can anyone please provide some information regarding Diploma and Intermediate degree. My question is that is Diploma degree equivalent to Intermediate or not?

Yes, Diploma course is equivalent to Intermediate course.

To pursue graduation course one must have passed either 10+2 (Intermediate) course or its equivalent course Diploma course in respective stream.

After completion of both the courses one has to appear for an entrance examination to pursue graduation course.

No, Diploma is not equivalent to intermediate, both are different level of degrees and cannot be compared. Both have their own importance in the field of education.

Therefore, I suggest you to make unnecessary comparisons between degrees otherwise it will be more complicated for you only in future.

Diploma is not equivalent to intermediate. Its not wrong to say that diploma has more weightage over intermediate. If you go for any bachelor degree after completion of your diploma then you can apply for admission in direct second year. However if you go for the bachelor degree after your intermediate then you will get the admission in first year. So in this way diploma in not equivalent to intermediate.
Also you cannot go for admission in IIt's with diploma but you can enter the same with intermediate.

If you done your diploma course after 10th then you are already equal to tenth standard.
Surely you are eligible for graduation course after completion of your diploma.

Yes, Diploma degree is equivalent to Intermediate because, both these courses can be pursued only after completion of 10th standard. The duration of Diploma course and for Intermediate course, it is 2 years. But, the candidates who have done Diploma course can find many job opportunities when compared to candidates who have pursued Intermediate course.
