I have completed ITI from karnataka(Gulbarga district) in Instrument Mechanic trade and now I want to do Diploma. I want to take admission second year of Diploma course. Is it possible to take admission through Department of Technical and Education, karnataka?

You can apply for polytechnic entrance exam of Karnataka state. Being an ITI diploma holder you will be eligible for lateral entry exam for admission in second year of diploma engineering course.

Admission will be based on the performance in written exam and seats will be allotted based on the rank in entrance exam.

Yes, it is possible to get direct admission in second year of Diploma course after completion of your two years ITI course from a recognised Institute. To get admission in second year of Diploma course, you must have to appear in examinations like VOCLET, etc.,. which is conducted by your respective state entrance examinations board. By qualifying the entrance examination, based upon your examination rank, you will be allotted a seat in a particular college and you can get admission in second year of three years Diploma course.

Yes, it is possible to join directly to the 2nd year of Diploma course after ITI completion. The eligibility to study the diploma through lateral entry is a pass in ITI certification after 10th standard. You can apply to the polytechnic lateral entry admission. In some states there will be an entrance examination for the admission to the course. The course is available in Karnataka State Open University. The duration of the course is 2 years.
