by which rule can i change my branch after first year of engineering?

when i would change my branch then there is any problem with strength of student in my old choice.

you can ask your college dean.

You will only be able to change your branch if there is a policy to change branches after 1st year. Some colleges like IIT's provide students to change their branch to some other branch according to their interest after 1st year. But it requires a lot of consideration, I mean you must be having your first year result about 90% or you must be in the top students of your college.

Students usually take chances to have better branches than they presently having. You must go to the Undergraduate Section for the information or you may read the prospectus given to you by the college and look if there is any kind of policy to change your branch.

The administration may ask you to apply for the department change and ask you about the choice of the departments other than yours you want to opt.

No friend, Most of the colleges won't accept for changing the branches in second year. But if you really want to change, contact the management and speak to them because always 1st yr of B.tech would be a bridge course with 12th std.

is there any mandatory rules by the vtu with regards to the minimum (percentage) strength of students must be there in a particular branch in a college? for example if the intake is 100 no. of student 75% of the total strength i.e. 75 no. of students must be there to run the branch otherwise the college gets de-recognized by vtu in that particular branch? please reply now since this is very urgent.

yes there is a chance branch in 2nd year. For that you have to get top 5 irank n first year. If you are in top 5 in first year means there is a chance to change branch which you want.

And also there are vacansies in those branches

Just go and contact the academic section of your college ,they will guide you the whole procedure that how to get the other trade in your college.According to me,as you you got third position in your class that means you have no backlog, that's a good thing.Only because of this reason you can change your stream in your college.

(b)then you should apply to change the stream in the 2nd year and concern with your faculty member of your college.

(c)check the vacant seats of your desired stream if yes then you will definitely change your stream .

(d)otherwise you should go for some approach or reference or some link to change the stream in the 2nd year of b.tech.

they say now changing has become little remote as colleges don't prefer. Is it possible to change from instrumentation to ECE in 2nd year.

As you are among the toppers of your college so there is a possibility that you can change your stream in your 2nd year but for that there should be a vacant seat in that respective branch and for whole process of application you should contact your head of department.

yeah if your college allows the branch change then you can surely consider the branch change.

As you have topped your branch then there are chances that you will be allowed to change.

You can conform about this with the college officials.

hi, yes there having possible to change ur branch because ur saying u secured highest percentage ,first of all u need to inform ur Hod, then through the permission of principle u need to inform to university to which branch u need to take then u can change u r branch. all the best

I am afraid that, after 2nd year it is very difficult to change stream. The main reason is that from 2nd year the syllabus of a particular stream comes into picture.

If this was the case of 1st year then it would have been quite easy, as in the first the syllabus of all streams is same.
So, for this the only way is that you have to contact with the department and the college.Only they could resolve the issue and concern you are facing.
