Re: Eligibility for Bank Exams is based on Average marks or Aggregate marks?
The eligibility criteria mainly depends upon the bank you are applying for ,the post which you are apply for , to which category you belong to (general/sc,st,exservicemen) ,etc..
For "CLERICAL POST" - most of the Banks ask for either 60% in your HSC /pre-university or A degree in any discipline, For "the PROBATIONARY OFFICER " post many Banks like SBI,ICICI BANK etc ask for 60% in your graduation. If you belong to sc,st,pwd,Ex-servicemen,OBC category you need only 5% less than the above mentioned percentage of marks. |

I am a B.com with Hons in Accounts and I have 65% marks in Honours. If a bank has advertised for 60% aggregate am I eligible for them. Do they calculate semester/subject wise. While doing so my aggregate is well below 55%. But my degree certificate has shown that I am gradute in first class.

Re: Eligibility for Bank Exams is based on Average marks or Aggregate marks?
As you were given 62% of marks in your Graduation certificate, you can consider it as your aggregate percentage of marks.
This makes you to be eligible to apply for the job opportunities in Banking sector. The entry level positions in various banks are Clerks Probationary Officers The selection procedure for both the positions would involve Written Exam Interview The written exam consists of questions from the following categories Reasoning Numerical Ability General Awareness General English Computer Knowledge You should have scored minimum qualifying marks in each of the categories of the written exam to get through it. There is negative marking for the wrong answer questions in the written exam. To apply for Clerical positions, you should have completed your Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. To apply for PO positions, you should have completed your Graduation with a minimum of 60% of marks. Better to apply for IBPS Exams as IBPS is conducting common written exams separately for the recruitment of these positions on behalf of all public sector banks. Wish you all the best. |
