IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination . If you have completed B-Tech / BE OR M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also applicable for IES exam. You should write your written exam in below departments .So you can choose any department from given below- 1.Civil Engineering 2.Electrical Engineering 3.Mechanical engineering. 4.Electronics and Communication Engineering. If you are not from above department then also you are applicable for IES exam , if you have B-Tech or BE degree . The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs. Engineering branch students are eligible for IES exam:-- Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Electronics and communication Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering. IES-Indian Engineering Services Eligibility Criteria : You must be a citizen of India. Age Limit : Your age limit should be between 21-30 Years. General - 4 times OBC - 7 times SC/ST - Unlimited |

Students of which branches of engineering are eligible for giving IES exam?
Generally IES exam is equally good job like IAS,IPS etc. But for IAS etc. only degree is the qualification where as for IES only below branches are eligible like: Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering.,Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering are applicable for attending the IES examination but Information Technology and Computer Science Engineering students are also eligible for the IES exam conducted by the UPSC. |

HI Indian Engineering Service, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC once every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The eligible candidate has to answer IES exam from any branch of Engineering as Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication. |
