CANDIDATE MUST BE ATLEAST GRADUATE WITH ANY STREAM from a recognized university.. For OBC it can be relaxed upto a maximum of years in upper limit
for SC/ST it can be relaxed upto a maximum of 5 years in upper limit
No. of attempts :

For General Category :-Four
For Other Backward Classes:- Seven
For SC/ST/PH :-No limits.

i belong to OBC(3B) category . but during my last 2 attempts while filling application i mentioned my category as general. now can i mention my category as 3B while filling my next application in Dec 2012.kindly help.

Hello,

Civil Service exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year once to take qualified students into different service post in government sector.
The number of attempts can vary based on the Reservation i.e
- General candidates: four attempts.
- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
- Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

Candidate should be a graduate in any of the streams from a recognized university.
Appearing in the final year of bachelor degree program are also eligible for IPS exam.
Age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

I have made a query about the no. of attempts left with me as I have once applied for it but could not appear in the prelims exams. I don't mean that I have given the examination for once. If you please tell me only application submitted to the UPSC will be counted as an attempt or after a person appears in the prelims examination is counted as one attempt.

UPSC - Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Service Exam every year to become an IAS/IPS/IFS/IRS etc. officer.

The eligible candidate being an Indian National should be a Graduate in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

There is a restriction on number of attempts to UPSC, Civil Service Exam for General and OBC candidates which are as follws:-

General candidate - Four attempts

OBC Candidate - Seven attempts

SC/ST/PH candidate - No such restriction.

indian administrative services
indian police services
indian forest services

for civil services minimum requirement is graduation from a recognized univerity

no minimum marks requirement

can a partial deaf candidate be eligible to apply for civil service examination? if yes,then how can it will be possible?since there is not any column blank for PD candidate. There is a column forDeaf-Dumb candidate.

Civil Services Exam is one of the popular Entrance Exam in India.

This is the common written exam for the candidates to be placed in all the civil services like
Indian Administrative Service
Indian Police Service
Indian Revenue Service
Indian Foreign Service etc.

CSAT Exam
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview
