IES Exam 2011 Important dates:

Date of notification: 25th December, 2010.

Last date for receipt of IES 2011 forms: 24.01.2011 (Mon).

Date of IES 2011 exam: 14.05.2011 (3 days exam)

Indian Engineering Services Exam (IES) (also called UPSC Engineering Services Exam) is a premier competitive examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), for selecting approximately 250-350 engineers for Government of India'a organizations such as
-Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE)
-Central Engineering Service (CES)
-Military Engineering Service (IDSE)

Important dates :
-The exam is going to be conducted on 14th May,2011
-Last date for the receipt of IES 2011 forms : 24-01-2011

Age criteria :
-The candidate must be 21-30 years of age as on 1st August,2011
-As relaxation exists as per government rules

Academic Eligibility :
-A candidate must be a graduate in engineering from a recognized university
-Even final year students can also appear in IES exam, provided he/she can provide the proof of passing the exam when IES exam (Written results) comes out, which is around December 2011.

I am an electronic and communcation student . I am 2010 B.E. passed out. As per the syllabus i am studying from engineering books. i had followed vtu syllabus.. will that be enough for the exam???
