IES entrance test or Indian Engineering Services entrance exam is designed for recruitment of engineers in government services.

IES Exam Eligibility Criteria:-
1) Age Limit:- 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination.
2) Educational Qualifications:-
Applicable for the engineering graduates who have already completed or who are in last year. but last year students are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree.

IES Exam Selection Procedure:-
1) Written Exam:- Consist of 5 papers of 200 marks each.
2) Personality Interview: who have qualified in written test will be called for personal interview where their personality will be judged, the personality interview will be of 200 marks.

Examination notifications are published in major newspaper and employment news in January / February

Exam is conducted in June/ July every year.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

The Notification was published in the month of January or February in Official website or employment news papers.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departments as exam.

The Next IES exam date is not announced yet.

the age limit for this exam is 21-30,. there are 5& 3 years of age relaxations are applicable for SC\ST & OBC candidates.

Hello Ashiq,
To be eligible for the Indian Economic Service exam, you need to hold a masters degree in any of the following:

Economics
Econometrics
Business Economics
Applied Economics


The minimum eligible age to apply for the exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.

The upcoming IES exam 2012, will be conducted from 01-12-2012.
The application forms will be available from 18-08-2012.

exam following eligibility criteria.
You not mention then branch name
1.Educational Qualification
b.tech any one of the following branch :
Electrical Engineering.
Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Civil Engineering.

2. Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at
the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation
is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category.

Computer Science and Information Technology branch are
not eligible for the IES examination.

complete Information About IES Exams

In order to appear for the UPSC IES(Indian Engineering Service) exam..the candidates must fulfill the following details :-

1) You should be a B.Tech degree holder or in the final year of your B.Tech in any of the following streams

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
Electrical Engineering

2) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

The maximum number of attempts permitted for the general category is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit..


Availability of Forms :-

As of now..there is no notification for the forms but the last year's schedule and the important dates were as follows :-

Release of Notification:08.01.2011

Last Date of submission of Application forms: 07.02.2011

Dates of Engineering Services Examination: 14th to 16th May,2011

General Ability Test : 14th May,2011

Objective Paper I & Objective Paper II : 15th May,2011

Conventional Paper I & Conventional Paper II : 16th May,2011

So,the dates shall remain almost the same or marginal changes will be there..

Information About IES Examination -

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Services and this examination was Conducted by UPSC Every year. To apply for this examination you have to complete your Engineering degree course form a recognised University, Final year engineering graduates are also apply for IES Examination.

So, You have to complete your Engineering degree course in any one of the discipline :

>> Civil Engineering.
>> Mecahnical Engineering.
>> Electrical Engineering.
>> Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

For IES Examination your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

The Notification of IES Examination was declared every year in the Month of February and If you are Interested then please wait for the Next year examination Notification, The Notification of Next year IES 2012 Examination is going to be declared on 25/Feb/2012.

The last date of apply for IES Examination was 26/March/2012.

And the examination will be held on 15/June/2012.

Information Regarding IES Examination.

The Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year. This is also known as the civil services examination. Below i give you the details information about the IES examination. To appear in this examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification = Engineering degree in any one of the following branch.

As far as i know IES stand for Indian engineering service not Indian economic service.
Eligibility: qualified or appearing engineering student from recognized university with any stream.
date of exam for 2012: 15/6/2012

Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service exam:
Education qualification:

Age limit:

Indian Engineering Service exam notification for this year:

am I eligible for IES exam as i am studied in 8th semester oe B.TECH ECE

IES examination was conducted by UPSC every year and to apply for IES examination You need to complete your degree examination in Engineering from a recognised university. And After B.tech You are eligible to apply for IES Examination. But In this examination you have to choose a optional subject only from CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING.

M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also eligible for IES for certain posts only. The examination was held every year and to apply for this examination your age should between 21 to 30 years, Final year engineering candidates are also eligible for this examinations. Interested candidates may apply for IES Examination Online By visit the UPSC website. The IES Examination was held every year in the month of MAY. IES Examination for 2012 was already get over . The Notification for 2013 was not yet released . So, Please wait for the Notification . The Notification for IES Examination may published in Employment news paper and also Updated in Official website of upsc .
