What are the academic qualifications needed for IAS exam?

It does not really matters which stream you belong to as they just look for graduates in any discipline from a recognized university.

Your age should be between 21-30 years.

At the most you can attempt for four times.

Selection procedure includes preliminary exams, main examination followed by interview.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam so if you want to go for IAS exam , then you must be attend in CSAT Exam.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.There is not require any kind of Percentage marks for IAS Exam.

But your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

CSAT exam conduct in 3 steps like - 1)Preliminary Exam 2)Mains Exam 3)Personal Interview.

Preliminary examination has two sections and each section consist of 200 marks.Both sections are objective types questions.

Only those students who have cleared the preliminary exam will be eligible for the main exam.There are total 9 papers and students have to choose two optional subjects .After clearing the main exam you will get call for the interview.

to apply for IAS or indian administrative services you need to complete your graduation in any stream from a recognised university. There is no percentage of marks needed for applying. All the graduates can apply. The exam is conducted by UPSC every year. Your age must be between 21-30 years(for general candidates) to apply. For OBC and SC/ST candidates there is a relaxation of 3 and 5 years respectively.

Educational Qualification -

-The candidate must have completed graduation from a recognized university with one of the following subjects
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
Botany
Chemistry
Geology
Mathematics
Physcs
Statistics
Zoology

- Or the candidate must be a bachelor degree holder in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from a recognized university

Some other criteria are -

Age limits

-The candidate must have completed 21 years of age and should not be more than 30 years of age

-A relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit will be given to the schedule caste and schedule tribe candidates, 3 years to OBC candidates and 10 years to Blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons.

- In case the candidate satisfies more than one age relaxation criteria then cumulative age relaxation will be given. For example the relaxation in the upper age limit for a blind SC candidate will be 15 years.

-Age will be considered as on 1 July 2012

Nationality

The candidate must be an Indian citizen

Permissible Number of attempts

-The general candidates can attempt the exam only 4 times and OBC candidates can attempt the exam only 7 times

-There is no limit for the maximum number of attempts for SC/ST candidates.

Examination fees

-The candidates will have to pay an examination fees of Rs.100/-

-No fees will be charged to schedule caste, schedule tribe and physically disabled candidates.

Once every year Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts Civil Service Examination for recruitment of IAS/IPS/IRS/IFS etc. under Central Govt.

The academic qualification for IAS (Civil Service Examination) is Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. The candidate appearing for Final Graduation Degree exam is also eligible to apply for this.

Besides this criteria, the candidate must be an Indian National within the age group of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC up to 3 years.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test-Preliminary exam

-Civil Service Main Examination

-Personal Interview

HELLO DEAR

To apply for UPSC Civil services examination after completing your Graduate course to become IAS Officer, IAS stands for Indian Administrative services and to become IAS you need to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination.

This examination is conducted by UPSC, every year and the notification will be published in the employment Newspaper or in the official UPSC website.

When the notification Published online registrations was already started and eligible candidates fill the application form online from the official website of UPSC, Graduation is the minimum requirement to apply for this examination, final year graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

This examination is conducted in these 2 stages, preliminary examination and Main examination.

Firstly, you have to cracked the preliminary examination, this examination is objective one and there are two papers in this examination and you have to appear for both papers in same day. If you cracked this examination, you are eligible for Mains. For Civil service examination, you need to choose two optionals for Mains exam.

To be eligible for this exam, you must in the age group 21-30 yrs (relaxation for reserved category). Number of attempts are also limited, 4 for general, 6 for OBC, while SC/ST no limit.

Notification is going to be published soon next year in Month of February, if you are interested then please apply for this examination online, when notification Published.

You have to prepared for this examination as per the pattern and syllabus, you can collect syllabus from the previous notifications from the official website.
