Indian Administration Service exam is held once in year, this exam is part of Civil service exam and exam is conducted by UPSC.
CSAT is the part of exam in Indian Administration Service exam.So if you fulfill with IAS exam,then you can appear CSAT exam. Eligibility criteria for IAS exam: Candidate should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university. Age should be between 21 to 30 years for General category candidates,21to 33 year for OBC category candidates,21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates Number of attempts: 4 attempts for General category candidates. 7 attempts for Obc category candidates 14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates. Important dates for IAS-2012 exam: Indian Administration Service(Preliminary exam) Notification for this year: Issue of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012. CSAT Age Limit
The age limit for CSAT is 21-30 years for GENERAL category candidates. OBC candidates get 3 year relaxation in the upper age limit and SC/ST/PD candidates get 5 year relaxation in the upper age limit. Within mentioned age limit the GEN candidates can attempt Civil Services Examination 4 times, OBC candidates can attempt Civil Services Examination 7 times and there is no restriction as per no. of attempts for SC/ST/PD candidates. The exact cut off Date of Births are published in the Civil Services Examination Notification. The notification for next Civil Services Examination shall be published in the first week of FEB 2012. You can refer the last year Civil Services Examination Notification to get familiar with the complete eligibility criteria, syllabus and other information regarding this exam. Civil service exams are conducted by UPSC every year. Age eligibility for CSAT (civil service aptitude test):- 1.Candidates age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. If your age is in between 21-30 years.. Then you can apply for CSAT exam. All the best. |

for general category 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories ) i.e for BC category it is 3 years and for SC/ST category it is 5 years No. of permissible attempts : General - 4 OBC-7 sc/st- no limit |

Dear pal,
the selection procedure for the IAS post involves common aptitude test main exam personnel interview for appearing for the exam the aspirant should have completed bachelor degree from a recognised university. The minimum age for applying for the exam is 21. The maximum age for general aspirant is 30. For MBC, OBC aspirant the maximum age upto which they can attempt is 33. For SC and ST aspirants the maximum age is relaxed to 35. The general aspirant can make only 4 attempts. For bc and mbc aspirant can make 7 attempts. Sc and st aspirants can attempt all the exams upto a age of 35. The civil service aptitude exam is common for all the aspirants. After clearing the exam the aspirant is eligible to appear for the main exam. The aspirant can choose optional papers as per their wish and their is no restriction for it. On clearing the main exam the aspirant are called for the personnel interview. |

CAST- CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST is the preliminary exam of Civil Service Examination, the selected candidate from CSAT can sit for Main exam followed by personal Interview.
Age limit for this exam is from 21 to 30 years of age for general candidate which the upper age limit relaxed for OBC is 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST/PH candidate. The last date of submission of application for CSAT is 05.03.2012 followed by examination on 20.05.2012.
