Good afternoon sir,
My self Balram Singh and now days I am pursuing MCA from IGNOU University and I am BCA Passed from Dr.B.R.AUniversity With 71%. And my 10th percentage is 59.4%
And 12th percentage is 58%.

So my question is that sir I want go to in civil cervices (IPS/IFS) .so please tell me that what is the minimum age structure .

The candidate should be between the ages of 21 and 30 as on 1st of August of the year of examination. There are relaxations in the upper age limit in cases like SC/ST, OBC

candidates, etc.

Eligible for the exam any degree holder from any recognized university in the country. Final year students, awaiting results are also eligible.There is no minimum percentage.

General category:candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

SC/ST:up to a maximum of 5 years.

OBC:up to a maximum of 3 years.

A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where as Seven attempts of OBCs. And no limit for SCs/STs.

For the same 21 years of age must be completed by 1 aug of the year
Max age for general is 30, for obc is 33, sc/st-35 while ex-servicemen get 5 years of exemption

MY AGE IS 29 YEAR OLD MALE AND I HAVE DONE M.Sc IN MATHS WITH 53.33 % AND B.Sc NON - MEICAL WITH 54.45 %. AM I ELIGIBLE FOR IPS AND IAS ENTRANCE EXAM?

The minimum age you must attain is that you must be between 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum) at the time of taking exam.Its a good thing that you are doing MCA.You can prepare well and get through it.

AGE LIMIT FOR IPS/IFS:

21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing.

Age limit


A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

1. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.

2. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.

3. upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989.

4. upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled during hostilities with foreign countries or in a disturbed area and consequently released.

5. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs / SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on August 1 of the year of examination and have been released:

1. on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from August 1 of the year of examination) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency,
2. on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or
3. on invalidment.

6. upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ECOs / SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment (5 years Military Service) as on August 1 of the year of examination and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years. Such candidates will have to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Defence stating that they can apply for civil employment and they will be released on a notice of 3 months, upon selection, from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.

7. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped candidates.

IPS/IFS both exam are conducted by UPSC in every year.
For IPS/IFS exam the minimum age must be 21 years and the
maximum age must be 30 years. So i think that you are eligible.

Age limits :

The candidate must have attained the age of 21 yrs and must not attained the

age of 30 yrs on 1st,Aug 2011 ( i.e The candidate must have been born not

Earlier than 2nd,Aug 1981 and not later than 1st,Aug 1980.)

21 - 33 yrs For OBC candidates.

21 - 35 yrs For SC/ST candidates.

All the papers of CIVIL Services are governed by UPSC so the educational qualifications & the age limit are almost same.

in addition to this relaxation is provided for OBC and SC/ST category

for SC/ST relaxation of 5 year is provided on maximum age

for OBC category relaxation of 3 year is provided on maximum age.

the eligibility criteria for civil services are

->you should have a degree of any stream and it should be from a recognized Indian University.

->Your age should be minimum of 21 and it should not cross 30 as its max for a general category..

Relaxation For Reserved Class.

Relaxation upto 3 years for obc candidates

Relaxation upto 5 years for SC/ST and PD candidates

these are the basic eligibility criteria for Civils

the various eligible criteria to be full filled by each appearing students is given below..

1)student have passed in a degree from any recognized University,

2)candidate must be a citizen of India,

can an OBC candidate appear in IAS exam through a general category.
i am an OBC candidate but appeared in IAS 2011 & 12 as a general candidate but now i have crossed the 30 years of age limit for a general candidate & i want to appear in IAS 2013 through an OBC category as it provides an exemption of 3 years can i do so.
