What is the age limit for obc category studying in iit...pleae tell me what is the limit

IIT's jointly conduct joint entrance exam. The candidates applying should not be over 25 years old. For those who belong to SC/ST category there is 5 years relaxation. However there is no special concession for those from the OBC category. They can avail of the 27% seats reserved for them.

Age Criteria For IIT JEE Examination.

IIT JEE is the most famous engineering entrance examination of India. Every year a large number of candidates appear in this examination to test their fate but seat is limited so competition become really hard. If you want to know the age criteria for IIT JEE examination then details age criteria for the IIT JEE entrance examination is given below :

--> For general and OBC category candidates the maximum age limit is 25 years.

--> For SC/ST/PD category candidates the maximum age limit is 30 years.

NOTE :- There are only two attempts allowed for the IIT JEE examination. Once in the appearing of the 12th board examination and other just after next year.

For obc category student the maximum age limit in IIT JEE is: 25 years.

To appear in IIT-JEE exam,2012 candidates whose date of birth is on/after October 01, 1987 are eligible.Candidates belonging to OBC are also considered in this category.
However in case of SC, ST and PD(Persons with Disabilities) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e., SC, ST and PD candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1982 are eligible.

dear in IIT there is no such kind of reservation.but there is rule for appearing twice for the IIT one at the 12th time and one after the passing up of 12th standard.

You have mentioned that you are from OBC category and you want to know the age criteria to appear in IIT-JEE exam..

Below I have mention the age eligibility to appear in IIT-JEE exam..

Age criteria:-

*The candidates age should not be more than 25 years for general and OBC category.
*For SC/ST the age should not be more than 30 years.

So, if your age is less than 25 years then you are eligible to appear in IIT-JEE exam.

Hello friend,
To study in the IIT's, you will have to qualify the joint entrance exam conducted by the institute.
To be eligible for the exam, you must have qualified +2 level of examination from a recognized board.
The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to OBC category is 25 years.
The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST category is 30 years.

The eligibility criteria for IIT JEE -

1.You have to pass the 12th from any recognized board .

2.Age limit = up to 25 years for OBC categories .
up to 30 years for the sc/st categories .

3.One can apply maximum two times for the exam .

Age Limit for IIT-JEE

For General and OBC category..the maximum age limit is 25 years
For SC/ST,the maximum age limit is 30 years..

There is no special provision for the number of attempts you can make to clear IIT-JEE..the rules remain the same for you also..

1)you have to be a 12th pass out with aggregate of 60% or above in PCM in 12th..

2) there are only 2 attempts for clearing IIT-JEE..one is in the year of your passing of 12th and one is in the next consecutive year..

There is a special reservation of 27% seats in IIT for OBC candidates

According to the latest IIT declaration the following gives the exact data:

Age Criterion:

General (GE) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1987. Those born earlier are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and those with Physical Disability (PD) must have been born on or after October 1, 1982. SC/ST/PD candidates born before October 1, 1982 are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012.

Hence the is no relaxation for OBC candidates......

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA IIT-JEE :-

1.The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized board with physics ,chem and math.

2. You must score 60% above in 12 th.

If you fulfill the above criteria then you are eligible for IIT JEE.

AGE CRITERIA:-

Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years.

IIT JEE EXAMSCHEDULE:-

Form availability - 11th November, 2011

Last date for submitting form – 5th December, 2011

Availability of online forms for IIT JEE 2012 – From 11th November 2011 to 10th December 2011

IIT JEE 2012 date – 8th April, 2012 (Sunday)

IIT JEE 2012 Result declaration date – 16th May, 2012
