CDS stands for Combined Defence Services. The CDS examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year for candidates who are interested to join in Indian Military/ Naval/ Air Force/ Officers Training Academy. To be eligible to appear in CDS examination, you must have to satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below :-
Eligibility Criteria :- 1. Nationality :- --> You must be a citizen of India. 2. Educational Qualification :- --> For Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officer's Training Academy (OTA) :- You must have completed Graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university. --> For Indian Naval Academy :- You must have completed Graduation degree in Engineering from a recognised university. --> Indian Air Force Academy :- You must have completed Graduation degree from a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. 3. Age Limit :- --> Indian Military Academy :- 19-24 years --> Naval Academy :- 19-22 years --> Air Force Academy :- 19-24 years --> Officer’s Training Academy :- 19-25 years 4. Gender and Martial Status :- --> Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy and Indian Naval Academy. 5. Physical Standards :- --> You must be Physically fit as per physical standards mentioned in the UPSC CDS examination notification. |

CDA (Combined Defense Services) Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice a year. CDS Examination is basically conducted for the admission into several academy cadres namely, Air Force Academy, Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy and Naval Academy.
Educational Qualification Required: For Indian Military Academy: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent is required For Air Force Academy: B.Sc with Physics and/ Or Mathematics Or Bachelor of Engineering is required For Officer Training Academy: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent is required For Naval Academy: B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering is required Age Criteria: For Indian Military Academy:- 19 to 24 years For Officer's Training Academy:- 19 to 25 years For Naval Academy:- 19 to 22 years For Air Force Academy:- 19 to 23 years |

CDS i.e Combined Defence Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission two times in a year for admission who have interested to join Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy and Officer Training Academy.
Indian Military Academy : -> You should have completed bachelor's degree in any desire subject from a recognized university. -> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 24 years. -> You should be unmarried male candidate. Indian Naval Academy : -> You should have completed B.Sc degree with Physics and/or Mathematics or Engineering from a recognized university. -> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years. -> You should be unmarried male candidate. Indian Air Force Academy : -> You should have completed degree with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized university. -> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 23 years. -> You should be unmarried male candidate. Officer Training Academy : -> You should have completed degree in any desired subject from a recognized university. -> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years. -> You should be unmarried male/female candidate. |

CDS ( Combined Defence Services ) is the exam conducted by the UPSC twice in a year.Through this examination you can have a career in any of the three wings namely Navy ,Indian Air Force and Army .
But only Male candidates can have a chance to get in to the any of the three wings.In fact Female candidates have a chance to apply for the Officer's Training Academy through CDS examination. Eligibility for the CDS Examination : 1.You should complete the graduation for IMA (Indian Military Academy ) and OTA from any recognized University. For INA (Indian Naval Academy ) you should complete your graduation in B.E/B.Tech from a recognized University. For Indian Air force ,you must complete your graduation in B.E/B.Tech. 2. For IMA ( 19 to 24 years ) , INA (19 to 22 ) ,For Indian Air Force (19 to 23 years ). |

The age limit to apply the CDS Examination is different for all the branches as follows :
* Air Force : 19 to 23 years * Indian Military : 19 to 24 years * Naval Academy : 19 to 22 years * Officer's Training Academy : 19 to 25 years CDS : Combined Defence Academy CDS stands for Combined Defence Academy whose examination is conducted twice every year by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) in order to select the candidates for the following sectors : * Air Force academy * Indian Military Academy * Naval Academy * Officer's Training Academy >> Eligibility Criteria : ~ Educational qualifications * Air Force Academy : The candidate must have completed his/her gaduation with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized College/University or any equivalent qualification like B.Tech in 4 year course. * Indian Military Academy : The candidate must have a bachelor degree in any subject/discipline from a recognized College/University or equivalent qualification. * Indian Naval Academy : The candidate must have a Bachelor in Science (B.Sc) degree with Physics or Mathematics from a recognized College/University or Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) in Engineering from a recognition. * Officer's Training Academy : The candidate must have completed his/her Bachelors degree in any subject from a recognized College/University or equivalent. // The latest notifications regarding CDS Examination will be published in the month of November on the official website of UPSC i.e. www.upsc.gov.in For any further details, you may refer to the official website of UPSC. |
