Yes, you can join IMA by appearing through the CDS examination being a BCA graduate.

CDS-COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Indian Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final graduation Degree exam or pass in any discipline from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years, is eligible to apply for CDS.

As you are a student of BCA, you can appear for CDS either in the final year of BCA or after completion of BCA to join Indian Military Academy.

If you want join in Indian Military Academy through NDA, CDA and UES.These Exams are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

To apply this examinations the candidate must have to complete 12th or graduation from a recognized university.


National Defense Academy (NDA):

Education Qualification: 12th pass from a recognized university.
Age Limit: - 16.5 to 19 years.

Combined Defence Service (CDA) Examination:

Education Qualification: Completion of Graduation from a recognized university.
Age Limit: - 19 to 24 years.

University Entry Scheme (UES) Examination:

Education Qualification: Completion of Graduation from a recognized university
Age Limit: - 18 to 25 years.

Hey friend,

Yeah,of course you can join in IMA after doing BCA,by writing entrance exam.

BCA is a UG Course and it stands for Bachelor of Computer Application and it is a 3 year duration course.

The entrance exam which you can write is CDS Exam as it offers you to join in IMA with your qualification


CDS stands for Combined Defence Service

This exam is known as one of the defence service exam of India and this exam is carried out by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).

This exam is conducted every year and is conducted twice as CDS I and CDS II

This exam is conducted for candidates to join in defence forces like:

• Indian Military Academy
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force
• Officer Training Academy

For writing this exam there are criteria's which the candidate should need to satisfy and they are:

> The candidate need to be a citizen of India

> Only Unmarried male candidate are eligible for the CDS Exam

> The age limit needed for the CDS exam for joining in IMA is that the candidate should have a age limit between 19-24 years

> Regarding the education qualification for the CDS Exam is that the candidate must have completed a degree from a recognized university

> Physical Fitness is very much needed and the candidate must satisfy the standard for it.

You can join Indian Ar,y after completing 3 year graduation..
For this you have to qualify the C.D.S exam..

C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.
Candidate who pass the graduation in stream is eligible for this exam.

Age of the candidate should be in between 19-24 year.

This exam is conducted in three stage:-
> Written exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

Date of Notification:-02.06.2012
Last date of receipt of form:-02.07.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam:-16.09.2012(SUNDAY)
