R/Sir, i am doing my b-tech in civil engineering from a university which is approved by state government but it is only notified by UGC. I want to know that whether i am eligible to appear in UPSC exams?kindly provide me necessary information about the above matter.I will be highly thankful to you.

YES, you are eligible to apply if the University is approved by State Government.

If you would have mentioned the name of the university from where you are doing your course i would have told you the exact details

UPSC Civil Services exams are held in three stages
Prelims
Mains
Interview

Next Prelims exams are scheduled to be held on 19th May 2013
Notification would be released by UPSC on 2nd February 2013

Eligibilty to apply is:
Educational Qualifications: Graduation pass in any Stream
Final Year Graduation Students can also apply

AGE- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
Candidates belonging to OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

ATTEMPTS- General candidates- 4 times
OBC- 7 times
SC/ST- No such restriction

Yes you are eligible for the Union Public Services exam as b.tech degree holders are also eligible for the exam and you can write the exam without any problem so don't worry about it much because you are fully eligible for the exam.

As a engineering student you can write the combine defence services exam for which you need a graduate pass degree from a recognized university and as you are having this degree so you can apply for the exam.

Qualifications Required for the cds exam:

-The Candidate must be pass in the graduation degree

-Should have physics and maths as subjects at 12th level

For the IMA 19-24 Years

For the IAF 19-23

For the Naval 19-22

-For the officer's training academy 19-25

Nationality :

-Indian
