all graduate students are eligible for UPSC examination.
so after completion of your graduation in information technology engineering you will be eligible for UPSC examination. so do not worry you are eligible. but the question of UPSC examination mainly from arts subject like history, geography, political science, economics etc. so it will be very difficult to score good in this examination. also some mathematics and general portion is also included. the competition is also very high. but as you have interest you should try for it. best wishes. |

hi!
UPSC conducts both civil services examination(CSE) & indian engineering services(IES) examination. Which exam you are talking about? Eligibility for CSE: Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline obtained from a recognised university/institution. Candidates appearing in final year exam of qualifying degree may also apply. Eligibility for IES: Candidate must have obtained a degree in Engineering in any discipline from a recognised University. Final year students can also apply. So you are eligible for both the CSE & IES exam. |

Dear friend, Surely IT students are eligible for UPSC examination (for IAS and IES). But as far as the subject option is concerned, there is no subject as Computer Science in both the examinations. So, IT students have to select another optional subject. For IES examination they can choose Electronics and Telecommunication engineering which is related to the Computer science and will be easy as compared to other optional subjects. For IAS(UPSC) examination , you have to choose a subject which interests you as there is no engineering subject as such which is closely related to the computer science branch. For more details you can visit the official website of UPSC and also http://www.upscportal.com. Thank you.... |
