Sir/Mam, I was enrolled in a lateral entry in MCA in June 4 years back and completed in Dec (as mentioned in the mark sheet). On the basis of this degree can I apply and appear in UGC NET exam? Am I eligible? Please help. Thank you.

UGC NET is at present known as Central Board of Secondary Education National Eligibility Test. This competitive entrance examination is for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.

Academic qualification:

You must be post graduate to apply for this entrance examination. The percentage of marks required to apply for this exam is 55%. There is 5% relaxation of marks to SC/ST candidates.

Master of Computer application candidates can apply for CBSE NET exam if they have 55% marks in master's degree. There is 28 years upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship and no upper age limit for post of lecturer in any college.

Candidate after MCA you can apply for UGC NET exam because minimum qualification required to apply for NET exam is post graduation degree for more details please read below written procedure carefully:-

Details and Eligibility Criteria for NET Exam:-

>> Applicant must have scored minimum 55% marks in post graduation degree. Relaxation of 5% in marks criteria for candidate belongs to Sc/ST category.

>> Age limit to apply for the exam for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) is 28 years. Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

>> There is no age eligibility procedure for Lectureship in university and college.

>> Candidate you have to choose subject for exam that you studied in your degree. If you are not able to find your subjects then you choose the related subject for exam.

>> The selection process depends upon your performance in the written exam.

>> Written exam is objective type and contains three papers having 175 questions and carries 350 marks.All the questions based on the subjects you selected for exam.

So candidate prepare well and get join in teaching profession.
