Re: Am I eligible to get in Aeronautical Engineering through lateral entry?
dear friend,
Yes, my friend you can go for aeronautical engineering through lateral entry exam.. After completion of diploma, you have to appear in lateral entry exams like- JELET, Polytechnic etc.. Through these exams you can take admission in 2 years of BE/B.tech course directly.. To get admission in aeronautical engineering steam you need to write the exam in aeronautical engineering syllabus.. So, go for it.. All the best. |

Re: Am I eligible to get in Aeronautical Engineering through lateral entry?
You are definitely eligible for lateral entry admission into B.Tech/B.E. However it is not recommended to change the branch of engineering course after diploma. Often everyone will recommend you to go ahead with the same stream for B.Tech in which you completed diploma.
It is generally very difficult for students to cope with new stream after diploma. However if you think you can cope with that, then please go ahead with that. Aeronautical Engineering deals with flying vehicles that remains inside the earth's orbit. This includes helicopters, commercial aircrafts and fighter jets. The process of admission through lateral entry scheme is different from regular admission. For example you can not get lateral entry admission through these entrance exams: AIEEE IIT-JEE UPSEE ISEET Neither universities like Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology will offer you admission. There is simply no provision in these institutes to offer lateral entry admission to the candidates. What you will have to do is appear for the Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET). This entrance exam is for lateral entry admission. Various universities in India reserve some seats for the lateral entry students, which are offered through LEET entrance exam. You must have scored 60 percent marks in diploma to be eligible for Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET). Apart from LEET there are other entrance exams, some are conducted separately by the colleges. |
