The minimum height required to apply for the Air Force wing of National Defense Academy is 162.5 inches, which is equal to 5 feet 5 inches.
Since you have got this minimum height, you are eligible to apply for the Air Force wing of the National Defense Academy, provided you fulfill other eligibility criteria like the minimum academic qualification and age limit.
to apply for the Air Force wing, you must have passed higher secondary examination with Physics and Maths as you major subjects.
As you have mentioned that your age is 16+, the minimum eligible age is 16 years 6 months and the maximum age limit is 19 years.
Since the examination is conducted by union public service commission, you must refer to its official website to keep your self updated regarding the NDA Exam.

NDA ie :- National Defence Academy . NDA Examination is conducted by UPSC for twice in year .

Eligibility criteria for NDA Examination :-

The aspirant should citizen of India .

The aspirant should Unmarried Male candidate

The aspirant should be complete 12th Examination from recognized university or equivalent Examination .

If you the aspirant interested in Navy or Airforce wing , then the aspirant should complete 12th Examination in science the subjects like Physics / Chemistry and Mathematics .

The aspirant age should be 16 1/2 years to 19 years .

The aspirant should be physically fit for the NDA training academy , the physical standard like , eyesight / weight and Height etc..

The Important Notification for NDA Examination are published in Employment News papers and Updated in Official website of UPSC .

NDA-National Defense Service

NDA exam is conducted by UPSC every year twice to take qualified students into different defense service like
>>Indian Air Force wings
>>Indian Army wings
>>Indian Navy wings

To appear for NDA(Indian Air Force),then you should have complete 12th class with PCM stream from a recognized university.And your age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.

If you fulfill with this criteria this year,then you can appear for this year NDA exam.

NDA exam held twice in year.NDA-I exam notification released in this year on 31st December 2011,closed on 30th Jan 2011.And exam going to held on 15th April 2012.
NDA-II exam notification will release in this year on 5th May 2012,closes on 4th June 2012.And exam will held on 19th August 2012.

see you have not provided with your detils of qualification in class XII or nothing else

here is the ELIGIBILITY CRIETERIA so that you can check whether you are eligible for the same or not

• Age should be b/w 16.5 to 19 years

• unmarried male candidate

• for AIRFORCE wing you need to have passed your XII class from a recognised board Kike CBSE /any other state board

• Indian citizenship

• candidate must having NON-MEDICAL That means that you must have had MATHS as your subject
• you should be physiclly fit

your eyesight :

• one eye normal that is 6/6

• other eye atleast 6/9

Hi Subhadeep,

you have not mentioned your major subjects in 12th class.
to be eligible for Airforce wing one must have studied Maths and Physics as compulasry subjects in 12th class.
if you have these subjects then you are eligible for Airforce as you have required heoght and age.
here i am giving the criteria for appearing NDA exam:

Eligibility Criteria for NDA is 12th Class / Equivalent passed certificate conducted by State Board / Universities.
Candidate appearing can also apply.

Age limit 16 1/2 to 19 years


A candidate has to go through three stages :

Written examination conducted by UPSC
Interview by SSB to test officer potentialities
Medical Test by a Service Medical Board.

Scheme of the Examination

Papers will be objective type. Medium of examination is English only.

Syllabus for Entrance Examination
Paper I - Mathematics : (Maximum Marks 300)
Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics.
Paper II - General Ability
Part A - English (Maximum Marks 200)
Part B - General Knowledge (Maximum Marks 400)

APPLICATION FORM are published by the UPSC at interval of six months,
i.e. April / May and October / November in all the local newspapers and Employment News.

The minimum height required for this is 5 feet 5 inches.

This NDA examination is conducted by the UPSC [UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION] twice in a year.
The educational requirement for appearing in this examination is a 12th degree,.
You must have Physics & Maths in 12th, for apply in air & naval force,.Also you must have scored atleast 60% in 12th.
