hii

Eligibility criteria for NET/SET exam after M.Com
UGC carries out the NET exam and the State Government of each State carries out the SET exam. The eligibility criterion for the NET and SET exam is a post graduation in any fields. The percentage requirement for the NET exam is 55% aggregate in the Masters’ course. In addition, aspirants should not be aged above 28 years. The SET exam percentage requirement may vary within States. Most of the States require only 50% aggregate in the qualifying exam. Since you are a postgraduate in Commerce, you are qualified to apply for the test. However, you should satisfy all the qualification criterions for attending these tests. Those who clear the NET exam can apply for the vacancies of lecturers in colleges or institutes within the country. However, aspirants can apply for lecture vacancies within the State through SET exam.To appear for the NET exam the Post Graduation degree is a must. But for the SET exam Graduation degree is sufficient. With the NET the candidate can become a college lecturer whereas the SET qualified candidates can only go for the school level teaching. Since your brother is a Post Graduate he can surely apply for the NET exam. It is a must to have pursued the course from a recognised university. Nagpur University is recognised so he does meet this criteria too. Also it a must to have at least 60% in Post Graduation. If he satisfies this criteria too then your brother is eligible for the same. The NET forms are currently available in main Indian Bank branches. So if he want to write the exam this June he must apply immediately

The maximum age limit for appearing in NET SET
for JRF is 28 years of age
But as per age limit you can apply for LS in NET as there is no upper age limit for that

However(for JRF) there is age relaxation of 5 years for reserved categories that is OBC/ST/SC candidates

Hello Friend,

It depends upon that for which post you are inquiring because the NET Examination is conducted twice every for the below mentioned posts :

a) Junior Research Fellowship

b) Lecturer Ship

So The Age Criteria Required For Both Of The Posts are :

* Junior Research Fellowship : 21-28 years.

* Lecturer Ship : There is no age limit.

So , if you want to appear for NET Exam for the Lecturer Post then you are eligible otherwise not.

Hope the above mentioned will provide you the information you were searching for.

It depends of what are exactly are you appearing for. The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for college lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. If your intention is to appear for the college lectureship then there is no problem because there is no upper age limit for that.

However if you are interested in Junior Research Fellowship then I am afraid it may not be possible since the age limit is 28 years for that. However there is some relaxation for reserve categories. If you belong to SC/ST/OBC then you can apply without any problem.

A lot will also depend on how much marks you have scored in post graduation. You will have to meet the minimum percentage criteria for the National Eligibility Test. Same is the story for State Eligibility Test. No matter which state's SET exam you are applying for, the criteria remains the same as NET entrance exam.

Eligibility

1. The candidate should be Indian citizen.

2. Must have post graduation degree in any stream.

3. At least 55 percent marks in it.

4. SC and ST need at least 50 percent marks.

5. Final year students can also apply.

6. NET subject should be relevant to your PG course.

7. There is no limit on attempts.

8. Age limit is 28 years for JRF.

9. three years relaxation for OBC.

10. five years relaxation for SC and ST.

11. There is no upper age limit for lectureship.

Yes you are eligible for giving the NET and SET exam as there is no age restrictions for giving the NET and SET exam. The only qualifications you required are that you should have completed your masters degree in any stream with a minimm of 55% marks in aggregate, and a relaxation of 5% is given to the sc/st students.

Dear Friend,

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test whereas SET Stands for State Eligibility Test.

The NET Exam is conducted for the below mentioned posts :

a) JRF (Junior Research Fellowship)

b) Lecture Ship

There is age limit for the post of JRF but there is no age limit for the post of Lectureship.

So if you are applying for the post of Lectureship , then you need not to worry about the age criteria but if you are applying for the post of JRF then your age should lie in between 21-28 years.

Also , you must have completed your Masters Degree in any stream from any UGC recognized University.

This Examination is conducted every year twice in the months of June and December by the University Grants Commission.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you o the extent you want.

Hello,

Yes you are eligible for NET /SET exam , as there is no such age limit

factor forapplying for the post in the Lectureship , but yes if you are applying

for JRF should be within 28 years of age if you belong to General Category ,

whereasif you belong to SC/St category your age must be within 33 years .

The educational qualification that is needed is post graduation degree with

50% from recognized university , and also you must be a citizen of India also.

GOOD LUCK
