Yes being a mechanical engineering course pursuer you are eligible for the post of both Junior and Senior engineer in the Indian Railways.

For the same you need to clear Railway Recruitment Board ( RRB ) examination held by different RRBs following a particular pattern.

--> For appearing in the same examination, you must satisfy the criteria given below :-

--> For the post of Junior Engineer :-

* You must have the citizenship of India with your age lying within 18 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates.

* You must have at least completed your diploma in engineering degree course from a recognized institute. Final year students are also eligible.

--> For the post of Senior Engineer :-

* You must have the nationality of India with your age lying within 20 years to 34 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your bachelor of engineering degree course from a recognized institute. Final year students are also eligible.

--> The examination is held once every year and includes three stages which are respectively known as Written test, Mains & Medical Test and Personal Interview.
